To ensure a non-slip experience, even in the most challenging conditions, the Mako XL features our proprietary Gator Grip anti-slip technology on both the nose pads and temple tips of the frame which provide a steadfast grip, mirroring the Mako's capability to navigate the turbulent seas with ease. Scratch Resistance: Highly abrasion-resistant coating which increases surface hardness allowing lenses to exceed testing requirements.
Hydrophobic & Oleophobic: Helps repel water and reduce oil buildup.
Anti-Reflective: Reduces glare and unwanted reflections
Marine: Marine coating which protects lenses from saltwater use.
LENS MATERIAL
Lens material options for our prescription frames are below.
Polycarbonate: Thinner than mineral glass by up to 25%, lightweight with increased impact resistance.
Trivex: Best optical clarity (centrally and peripherally), ultra lightweight, increased impact resistance and resistant to chemical and stress.
High Index: Ideal for stronger power prescriptions that allow for thinner lenses, increased scratch resistance, lower impact resistance as compared to polycarbonate or Trivex. High Index lenses are recommended for prescription powers above +/- 4.00 Sphere and/or Cylinder above +/- 2.00.

Single Vision Most common prescription that corrects for one field of vision (far distance, intermediate, or near vision correction).
Progressive Multifocal lenses for far distance, intermediate, and near vision. Progressive lenses have added magnification at the bottom of the lenses for up close reading.

My husband said these sunglasses are perfect. While offshore fishing, he can see his screens and line his hooks without switching glasses. He did have to get them molded a little closer on the sides as they were a little wide for his preference, too much light was coming in. (he has a narrower face). They’re perfect for him and he wants another pair for back up!

I received online notification that my prescription sunglasses had shipped but, to a location in another state. I called Island Optics and they looked into it. Got back with me same day, explaining USPS had sent out corrupted delivery info to thousands of customers. IOptics assured me the mailing label was correct and my glasses would arrive earlier than I was anticipating. For sure they did and the script works great!

Glasses are great. they are extra large but I guess my face is not as large as I thought. the prescription is great and I can now tie on smaller flies without reading glasses. The one item I needed to do was add a bungie to the ends around my head so the glasses dont fall of.....guess I should have order the non XL, but I love how large the lenses are the optics are awesome. the prescription is also great, with the progressive for tying flies on and the prescription in one eye to see distance...I have a couple of Costa glasses (no prescription) and these are glasses are great!
