Shipping & Returns

Domestic Shipping Policy

For U.S. orders placed on our website, we strive to provide efficient shipping services. If you place an order by 12pm EST on a business day and the items are in stock, they will typically be shipped on the same day via standard shipping. However, if you prefer expedited shipping, that option will be available for you to select during checkout.

In the case of prescription orders, we require up to 2 weeks for processing before they can be shipped. Once ready, prescription orders will be shipped via standard shipping unless expedited shipping is selected. 

While we make every effort to ensure timely deliveries, it's important to acknowledge that certain circumstances, such as major holidays or unforeseen events, may cause occasional shipping delays. Rest assured, we will provide tracking numbers for all orders so that you can stay updated on their status.

U.S. Returns Policy

We have a 30-day return policy, which means you have 30 days after receiving your item to request a return. 

To be eligible for a return, your item must be in the same condition that you received it, unworn or unused, with tags, and in its original packaging. You’ll also need the receipt or proof of purchase. 

To start a return, you can contact us at info@IslandOptics.com. If your return is accepted, we’ll send you a return shipping label, as well as instructions on how and where to send your package. Items sent back to us without first requesting a return will not be accepted.

Damages and issues 

Please inspect your order upon reception and contact us immediately if the item is defective, damaged or if you receive the wrong item, so that we can evaluate the issue and make it right.

Exceptions / non-returnable items 

Certain types of items cannot be returned, like perishable goods (such as food, flowers, or plants), custom products (such as special orders or personalized items), and personal care goods (such as beauty products). We also do not accept returns for hazardous materials, flammable liquids, or gases. Please get in touch if you have questions or concerns about your specific item. 

Unfortunately, we cannot accept returns on sale items or gift cards.

Exchanges 

The fastest way to ensure you get what you want is to return the item you have, and once the return is accepted, make a separate purchase for the new item.

Refunds 

We will notify you once we’ve received and inspected your return, and let you know if the refund was approved or not. If approved, you’ll be automatically refunded on your original payment method. Please remember it can take some time for your bank or credit card company to process and post the refund too.

International Shipping & Returns Policy

If you're located outside the domestic bounds and wish to return or exchange an item, please be aware that you are responsible for covering the shipping costs to send it back to our New York office. Follow these steps for a smooth return process:

To ensure the sunglasses are protected during transit, encase them in the microfiber pouch and the original plastic wrap. If you have the initial box, that's perfect for shipping them back; if not, any sturdy box will do, just make sure to secure the sunglasses well to prevent any damage. Please note that if the returned sunglasses are damaged due to poor packaging and are unsellable, we won't be able to issue a full refund.

Include a slip of paper with your contact details, the order number, and a clear statement saying "I would like a refund" in the box, so our team knows to process a refund rather than an exchange.

The entire return journey generally takes between one to two weeks. Upon the arrival of your returned goods, we'll perform an inspection for damage and then proceed to refund the product cost directly to your original payment method. Please be informed that the refund does not cover shipping fees.
