Lens questions, answered
What does VLT mean?
VLT (visible light transmission) is the percentage of light that passes through the lens. A lower number means a darker lens for brighter sun. Our 12% lenses are made for full sun, while Low Light (24%) and UltraColor (30%) let in more light for dawn, dusk and changing conditions.
Are all OX2® lenses polarized?
Yes. Every OX2® lens is polarized with UV400 protection, an anti-reflective coating and an anti-scratch layer. The lens color changes how you see contrast and color.
What's the difference between a mirror and a non-mirror lens?
A mirror coating sits on the outside of the lens. It reflects extra light and glare and adds a bold look. The base color behind it is what you actually see through. For example, our Blue Flash Mirror has a gray base, so colors stay true.
Which lens is best for fishing?
For offshore and bright open water, go with Gray, Blue Flash Mirror or Red Sunset Mirror. For inshore, flats, lakes and rivers, Brown or Green Flash Mirror boost contrast so you can spot fish and structure. For early mornings, late evenings and overcast days, choose Low Light.
Which lens is best for golf?
UltraColor is made for the course. Its rose tint makes greens, golf balls and changes in terrain pop. Green Flash Mirror and Brown are great choices too.
Can I get these lenses in prescription?
